Will all the Vita haters please shut up!

The PlayStation Vita has garnered a lot of hate over the past couple of months – some of it is deserved but a lot of it is not.

Yes, we all know the Vita should have globally launched before Christmas and possibly with a smaller price and without 3G as it is stupid idea. And, we all know that the sales have been close to atrocious in its home country of Japan.

But I promise there is something good to talk about.

We all know that the Vita is not doing so well in the eastern markets but it is of my opinion that we shouldn’t all spell doom and gloom for the Vita just yet.

The Wii U is coming out second half of 2012 – big blunder or smart move?

As we all know, the next generation of consoles is  just around the corner! The first of the new breed that we will see will be the Nintendo Wii U (unless of course you count the PS Vita).

The Wii U was first shown at E3 2011 – or, should I say, the controllers were shown at E3 – which lead to some confusion that the Wii U was just a tablet (like the iPad). This of course is thankfully not the case.

We now know that the Wii U is set to release in the second half of 2012, which may or may not have been earlier then the big N wanted to. This is possibly in response to Sony releasing the aforementioned Vita and the high probability that Microsoft and Sony must are surely working on their next consoles and planning to release them fairly soon.

But is it a good idea to release a console a head of schedule?

Monday Quickie – New consoles at E3, will they or won’t they?

Hey there gamers,

There has been a lot of talk lately from various sources saying that both Microsoft and Sony will unveil their next generation home video game consoles at this year’s E3 Expo in June.

Firstly it was announced via an “undisclosed” source that they would show them off at E3 and now it is being said by “analyst” Micheal Patcher that “There is no chance of Sony showinga  PS4 at E3 and only a 20% chance for Microsoft showing an Xbox-Next.”

Video – Wipeout racing is real? I don’t think so!

Hey there James here, with some interesting news.

There is a video doing the rounds currently that shows “Scientists” using and racing Wipeout like vehicles around a levitation track called “Quantum Levitation” in an attempt to show that Wipeout style racing is real and an actual thing.

I call complete bullshit on this and I believe this is all CGI and viral media for the Wipeout 2048 PS Vita game.

After posting outstanding sales in Australia, has the Nintendo 3DS established itself as a good console?

In a surprising announcement, Nintendo have proclaimed that with 200,000 sales of the Nintendo 3DS since March, their new handheld is now “Australia’s fastest selling console” – figures that were backed up by The NDP Group Australia.

So this begs to ask the question – if so many people are buying this device in Australia, is it actually a good console?

Well, I’m going to express my feelings towards Nintendo’s newest handheld and explore what’s happening in the near future.

The PlayStation Vita’s real price – a lot higher than you would have first thought

As we all know, Sony‘s newest handheld the PlayStation Vita is being launched soon in Japan and is slated for February everywhere else in the world.

This handheld has probably as much, if not more hype around it than any other dedicated gaming device not created by Apple and this is for good reason.

The PlayStation Vita is one of the first handheld devices that has a quad core CPU (the ASUS Transformer Prime also has one of these). As a result, Sony have said that this will produce PlayStation 3-like graphics which will be amazing on a handheld device.
