Aaron Holesgrove Nice tip from CNET TV. For me personally, I know that this has been something that has been driving me nuts for a while now.

Aaron Holesgrove A few days ago, Altimeter Group Industry Analyst Jeremiah Owyang caused quite the stir in this post on web-stretegist.com titled “End of an Era: The Golden Age of Tech Blogging is Over”. The title along can give a good indication of why you can imagine it ruffled a few feathers – my favourite came from former TechCrunch editor Sarah Lacy in this passionate rebuttal and I’ve earmarked a few of the other good ones in the Related Articles at the bottom of this piece. Owyang even obnoxiously started keeping tabs on all the reactions to his article, like he found it amusing that his article was so upsetting and offensive.
Now, I’m not going to rehash the same points that many others have been making on their own blogs but instead will trash Owyang’s article with points he made in his very own piece – because the situation is as simple as this:

This might initially seem a bit far fetched considering that the company is pulling more profits in the IT industry than anyone else and has more money than God (and for a moment there, more than the US Treasury) but the undeniable fact is that Apple have been losing their edge.
It’s worth noting up front that all this secret stuff that Apple like to do is getting pretty impossible for them to do anymore. When Apple buy parts, they buy them in such enormous volumes that it’s hard for a market analyst not to notice the amount of money changing hands and the huge shipping containers making their way across the world. Additionally, when Apple turned the portable computing industry on its head and starts making mega bucks, it put them in a giant fishbowl that everyone known to man like to peek into on a regular basis.

Chromebooks.
These devices just really trouble me. The biggest problem I have is that if Google had of sat on this idea for another two years or so before announcing Chrome OS to the world – targeting it for modern hardware – people would be proclaiming in unison that mobile apps and mobile OS’s are dead. Permanently.
Instead, Chrome OS was first announced just before the mobile app revolution truly exploded on the scene – and the biggest disruption that iOS has caused in particular is that the app model has made web apps look like cheap rubbish in comparison. And Chrome OS is all about web apps.

Aaron Holesgrove Check out this report from BGR.
It discusses a report originating from Apple-centric blog AppleSpot that the fruit-themed company will be introducing a version of the iPod Touch with 3G inside of it.
Here’s the weird part though – there is already a 3G iPod Touch in the marketplace. It’s called the iPhone.

Aaron Holesgrove Props to my buddy on Twitter @JKRLMazur for calling that article title.
Now, seriously, c’mon now. Who the McFluffity fudge fucks over at Nintendo is naming their products? And why weren’t they locked away in the loony bin after naming the last console?

Aaron Holesgrove This article is written in response to a blog post created by John Gruber at Daring Fireball titled “Why Windows 8 Is Fundamentally Flawed as a Response to the iPad“.
Ahh John Gruber. He only ever writes long articles when it comes time to defend Apple, doesn’t he?
I have strangely found myself liking his content lately and found that he’s been making some good points – and even being *gulp* fair. Then he goes and writes this nonsense.
So, without any further delay, let’s rip his article to shreds.
